Sonos and a few select incar systems have been allowed to have a closer integration as Apples deemed it worthy. Its not for apps that have their own underlying library management and playback architecture. Apple only want you to work one way The API is purely for apps on phones or tablets and web pages to utilise Apple Music using a different skin and interface and not much more. and you have to jump through hoops to make it work. Ever asked why you dont see Apple Music integration on more hardware or even other software like Plex, Roon, Audivarna well its because they dont make it easy. Its very very limiting, requires Apples Music app for authentication, you dont get lossless streams and you have to use their playback engine. You or someone stated that Plex has to do a lot of labor to work with Tidal to function on Plex’s end, such as pulling tracks for sweet fades and volume leveling, so I doubt any of that would be possible with the complexity of Apple’s very own DRM infrastructure on Apple Music. is just better off finding alliance and partners wherever possible but very much focus on the home lab and customization of the current at-home music experience. It’s the whole reason why these corporations are not just responsible for the music licensing but the actual app and UI designs across each of their respective platforms and from a Plex user stand point, I think Plex Inc. The Plex ecosystem would have to somehow be able to access and coordinate a huge effort to catalog and make sure each third party music service, had the same mechanics or similar standards across the board… or at least from an outsider POV. Or even better: an option for combining them (per device basis) so my kids only have access to the Kidsmusic-library on their tablets, and we as parents have access to all music from all libraries.Out of curiosity, understandably you nor anyone knows what Google had to do to get permission to access Apples API for Google Assistant Devices to playback Apple Music streaming services but I imagine it’s much more complex in terms of account management. I would love for a straightforward way to switch between Libraries - maybe tab and hold the "Library"-icon in the tabbar for easy-switch. We have two sources of music in our Library - Music and Kidsmusic. I hope the future brings Plexamp for the watch as well :) When going for a walk, since I've upgraded to the Apple Watch 6 LTE I always leave my phone at home, but sadly there's no Plexamp for the Watch so I'm stuck with Apple Music and Podcasts on my walks. Add my Playlists as icons on my Home Screen, well, there are tons of stuff I want to automate and opening Plexamp up with Shortcuts would be a huge deal - also with Shortcuts coming to the Mac, it's time! Please! :) Apple Music is fully integrated with Shortcuts and I've built some impressive playlist-managing tools, queue-tools etc. Add tracks to predefined playlists when hitting a Shortcuts-complication on my Apple Watch. I would love for Plexamp / Shortcuts when entering my car (with focus-mode iOS 15) to auto-start my 'Carmix 2021'-playlist. But outside US, Siri is not working that well and that's where Shortcuts is awesome. If I switch Siri to US, I can do stuff like Add this track to my Carmix-playlist and Play blues music in Plexamp. Shortcuts is awesome, especially outside US, where Siri is not that great (mildly stated). I would love to build advanced Shortcuts with Plexamp, other than the Siri Shortcuts like Love/Hate track and Play Downloaded/Radio. But I think there's potential for integrating it even better with all the innovative technologies that Apple are building into their operating systems going forward. Love every bit of what Plexamp is- and how focused the entire experience are. Fast to navigate, minimalistic and 0 bytes bloated. Plexamp is cool, impressive, awesome and slick. Sorry it's in Danish ( ) Google Translated: I even wrote a blogpost how I migrated from Spotify (everyday music) and iTunes Match (my weird music-taste that's not available on streaming) to Plexamp, and how much I ended up saving switching to buying music instead of paying the expensive streaming-fee. Plex has changed how I watch TV-series and Movies, and now Plexamp has changed how I consume my Music. First, a big shout-out to the entire Plexamp-team for making an absolutely wonderful music app.
